Children’s entertainment company, Sutikki has appointed Hannah Mungo as ceo and also welcomed Simon Philips as its newest board member. Hannah (pictured above) most recently served as country director UK & Ireland for NBCUniversal’s Brand Development division where she transitioned the business from agent to direct model. Prior to that, she was a key member of the team which built Peppa Pig into a globally recognised brand at eOne. Meanwhile, Simon brings a wealth of experience to the board from his time as EMEA evp and gm at Disney, president of Marvel Entertainment International and md at 4Kids.
Mattel and Sanrio have revealed a new fashion partnership between Barbie and Hello Kitty, marking the first time the two brands have come together on the creation of a consumer products line. Due to roll out across EMEA from early next year, the collaboration will include a colourful, contemporary product line aimed at both children and adults. The full range will include accessories, apparel, health and beauty and footwear, with a softlines focus for the launch which will be expanded on with more products added at different intervals throughout 2021.
Jazwares is aiming to build on its successful plush brand Squishmallows with the launch of an all-new brand extension called Squishville. Due to debut at UK retail from December, the squeezable range will expand the universe of Squishmallows by introducing the UK’s first all-plush play-sets.
emoji company and Medialink are collaborating with L’Oreal Paris Group to promote the Lancôme Tonique Confort Skincare Collection in China. A co-brand packaging and gift box has launched including the product in a pink bottle which has been customised to feature four emoji expressions – ‘laugh’, ‘ke’, ‘love’ and ‘monkey’. The special edition also includes a pink emoji headband.
Global lifestyle brand Casetify has revealed a new Pokémon collection. With a ‘Past, Present and Future’ theme, the collection features accessories which channel a modern-day twist including new case styles and returning favourites.
Preschool brand PJ Masks is currently taking part in the Dubai Fitness Challenge which is running until November 28. The initiative is helping to promote a healthier lifestyle to the children of Dubai, encouraging them to be active for 30 minutes a day through exclusive workout videos that are being released throughout the fitness month. The partnership was secured by 20too Licensing, Hasbro’s local sub-representative in MENA, and Eventbox.
Doug the Pug is expanding his ‘pack’ of licensing partners with six new licensees being added to the programme by Remarkable Brands. The NYC-based licensing and branding agency – which represents the celebrity pooch – has secured new multi-year agreements with Bare Tree Media, Customized Personalized Products, Fathead, Inkology, Komar Kids and Mighty Mojo Toys.
MEDIA I.M has secured three UK broadcast deals for its global preschool show, Sunny Bunnies. Ketchup TV has licensed seasons one and two for the UK and Eire, with the show launching later this year. Meanwhile, Channel 5’s Milkshake has renewed its commitment to Sunny Bunnies with a pre-sale agreement for season five, which is set to roll out early next year. Finally, season four is now available to watch on-demand on Sky Kids and NOW TV in the UK and ROI, as well as via smart devices on the Sky Kids app. Sky has also relicensed the third series of the show.
