Disney and Lucasfilm have announced Mando Mondays – a new global consumer products, games and publishing programme, kicking off on October 26, for The Mandalorian. With the second season of the hit show beginning on Disney+ on October 20, fans will be able to experience the episode and then visit the Star Wars UK Faceboo page every Monday to check out new toys, collectables, apparel, books, comics and digital content. Mando Mondays will run for nine weeks, culminating on December 21.
Following on from the announcement of his first cookbook and a new BBC TV show, 12 year old Omari McQueen has appointed BWI to develop and widen his merchandise and licensing programme. Omari is cooking up a real wave of enthusiasm for his innovative and passionate take on vegan cooking. He has also launched his own range of vegan dips called Dipalicious.
Bulldog Licensing has secured a deal with plush specialist Posh Paws and parent company Whitehouse Leisure to create a wide range of feature and basic Sesame Street plush for retail in the EMEA region. In addition, Whitehouse Leisure will also be developing plush ranges for amusement channels.
Meanwhile, Sesame Street has teamed up with LeSportSac on a new collaboration. The new collection – launching for winter 2020 – features characters such as Elmo, Oscar the Grouch and Cookie Monster appearing on five different fun bags.
Spin Master has secured a multi-year agreement to become the global master toy licensee for Riot Games’ League of Legends, the most played PC game in the world. Spin Master will develop products including action figures, play-sets and role-play items, with an anticipated on-shelf date of autumn 2021.
Moonbug Entertainment is partnering with Virgin Media to expand its children’s programming in the UK. Ten new shows – including Blippi, Little Baby Bum, Playtime with Twinkle, Supa Strikas, My Magic Pet Morphle and Gecko’s Garage among others – will air on Virgin Media’s TV platform starting in mid-October.
Aardman has revealed that its international exhibition – The Art of Aardman: Shaun the Sheep and Friends – has opened at Forum Groningen in the Netherlands. Following successful runs in Paris, Melbourne, Frankfurt and Seoul, the exhibition gives an insight into the work of the studio.
