Beano has partnered with the Reading Agency’s Summer Reading Challenge 2018. Each year the challenge has a new creative theme, with 2018 set to focus on mischief and pranks as inspired by Beano. The activity will sit alongside a host of other initiatives for the brand’s 80th anniversary. Organised by The Reading Agency, the challenge is run in partnership with the UK public library network. Over three quarters of a million children take part each year.

A new Hello Kitty Gang pop-up has opened at Topshop‘s flagship Oxford Street store in London. Running until Saturday July 1, fans will be able to snap up their favourites from a six-piece apparel and accessories collection. They can also personalise up to four Hello Kitty Gang items (available in four exclusive designs): a phone case, notebook, mug and keyring. The pop-up marks the first time that Hello Kitty Gang merchandise is available to buy.

Bulldog Licensing has added a brace of licensees to the Enid Blyton programme. Gibsons will be producing puzzles, while The Lagoon Group is on board for toys and games (including card and board games).

Redan Publishing has launched The World of Dinosaur Roar magazine, based on the new preschool property from Nurture Rights. The title will aim to encourage two to five year olds to explore and learn about dinosaurs. Redan has released an initial special Fun to Learn, The World of Dinosaur Roar in its popular Bag-O-Fun format.

Magic Light Pictures saw off stiff competition at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival last weekend, winning the Cristal for Best TV Production for Revolting Rhymes. This marks the third time that Magic Light’s films have won the award at Annecy.

Rainbow’s Regal Academy came to life earlier this month, with the company hosting a special event at Italy’s Gradara Castle. The medieval fortress was transformed into the Regal Academy during a special ‘Pumpkins Away’ weekend, with fans treated to a range of activities.

TF1 has acquired the second season of Alpha Group’s Super Wings for its TFOU children’s slot.

3Doodler, under licence by CBS Consumer Products, has launched limited edition Star Trek Crew Edition pen sets. The special Kickstarter ‘Gold’ campaign will see a limited release of six sets.

Kukuxumusu has secured a deal with Korean licensing agency Infiniss to expand its designs and content into the territory.
