Xilam will assemble a cross category UK licensing programme for rebooted show.
The comedy animated reboot of Mr Magoo is to make its UK TV debut today (Monday April 8).
The Xilam Animation show will launch on CITV with brand new episodes playing in half hour blocks, with three episodes per block, at 08.50, 12.30, 16.00 and 19.40.
In addition, there will be a weekend simulcast on ITV on Sundays at 07.05 as of May 18.
Xilam will be assembling a cross category UK licensing programme to support Mr Magoo.
The fresh take on Mr Magoo will target children aged 6-11 and follows the eponymous diaster-prone senior who first appeared on screens nearly 70 years ago.
Other broadcasters on board include Turner’s Boomerang (France, French and English speaking Africa, Middle East, Israel, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Central & Eastern Europe); Discovery Kids (Latin America); Super RTL (Germany), VRT and RTBF (Belgium); SIC K (Portugal); RTVE (Spain); and RTS (Switzerland).
“The calibre of the partners we are securing is testament to Mr Magoo’s universal appeal and we’re confident that the show’s warmth, slapstick humour and hilarious antics will strike a chord with a new generation of kids, along with fans of the classic series,” said Morgann Favennec, evp global sales development at Xilam Animation.
