New Licensing & Merchandising Showcase dated

Former Fox and Fremantle exec Carl Lumbard behind new one-day forum.

A new one-day forum is set to take place in May and is aiming to ‘assist the three sides of the licensing triangle’.

Licensing & Merchandising Showcase is being organised by Carl Lumbard (pictured), formerly head of global licensing at Fremantle Media and md EMEA of Fox Consumer Products.

Carl is working with experienced events organiser, Richard Milbourn (who has worked on events including the National Home Improvement Show and the Northern Boat Show) and Victoria Dunsmore (who has held sales positions at both Clarion and Centaur Media, selling a wide range of exhibitions).

The event will take place on May 5 at Chelsea Football Club, London. The aim is to enable licensors and agents to showcase their IPs in an intimate environment to retailers and licensees. A gala dinner will also be held in the evening.

Carl Lumbard, organiser of Licensing & Merchandising Showcase commented: “Eighteen months of recent consulting within the industry has actually given me a wider insight into the operations and needs of all sides of the licensing sector, hence the idea behind this event.

“As such, in discussion with Richard and Victoria, we felt that there was an opportunity for a one day forum to assist the three sides of the licensing triangle.

“Timing is critical in licensing and there is a real need for an event in the spring when retailers and licensees can identify the commercial opportunities in plenty of time to be able to meet the schedules for next year’s autumn/winter season.

“We will be strict in ensuring that it is committed licensees and retailers, along with IP owners and agents, attending this highly focused networking event to enable all sides of the ‘licensing triangle’ to be able to do weeks’ worth of business in one day.”
