AC Worldwide has been co-founded by Kelvyn Gardner; will develop consumer electronics lines.
A new licensee co-founded by Kelvyn Gardner is planning to offer branded consumer electronics lines to the market.
Kelvyn, who is chair of AC Worldwide, will continue with his consultancy business, Asgard Media, as well as his role as UK md of trade body LIMA.
The first offering from AC Worldwide is a line of Star Wars Bluetooth speakers.
The company has also already secured the rights to Top Gear, Doctor Who and Sherlock, and will be launching consumer electronics lines.
The new Star Wars speakers (£129) come in two editions – the protocol droid C-3PO and the Stormtrooper.
They feature full 2.1 system audio, plus, when a smartphone or tablet is paired to the speaker via Bluetooth it will say an iconic phrase. C-3PO exclaims “I do believe they think I’m some sort of god”, while the Stormtrooper will ask you to “Move along”.
The speakers can also pair via NFC technology or using AUX. Touch sensitive buttons control each speaker.
Kelvyn explained: “First and foremost, all of us are huge Star Wars fans, and we are all audio enthusiasts, so we wanted to create something that looked authentic while also delivering high quality audio.
“Our first review out in SFX magazine today fives us a 4.5 out of 5 rating, so that’s not just me talking!”
