Medialink teams with illustrator Steven Choi for new exhibition at Gallery by the Harbour in Harbour City.
Medialink has teamed up with Hong Kong illustrator Steven Choi on a new exhibition for Le Petit Prince, running until February 21.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of Le Petit Prince’s original publication in French. Steven made history himself by becoming the first Chinese artist to be officially authorised to illustrate a Le Petit Prince Picture Book, as well as the artist in 2020 to create an official 75th anniversary special edition picture book.
The first edition of Steven’s book debuted in July 2019 and quickly sold out. Looking to build on this success, the illustrator is predicting that his new special edition – Le Petit Prince: Le Havre – will breath new life into the character’s quest for Rose.
The exhibition – which opened on January 29 – is being held at Gallery by the Harbour in Harbour City and showcases over 30 artworks illustrating the Prince’s everyday life while wandering around the galaxy.
The artworks have been taken from Le Petit Prince Picture Book 2020 Special Edition, with Steven blending in various new elements into the classic tale including personifying the Prince’s beloved Rose as a fair lady for the first time.
The exhibition also introduces the sequel’s new characters, such as little foxes, which are an extension of the original imagery and relationships found in the classic.
Visitors will also be able to purchase the limited edition 75th anniversary picture book, as well as a variety of Le Petit Prince collectables including paper art, blind box toys, calendars, tote bags and herbal tea sets among other products.
