One in eight viewers of Marvel Television series were new to comic book based content.
Netflix has given a peek behind the curtain of its subscribers’ viewing habits.
The company – which certainly doesn’t make a habit of sharing numbers – said that one in eight viewers of its Marvel Television series were new to comic book-based content before watching it on Netflix, reports C21.
Marvel series created for the streaming service include Daredevil (pictured), Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
The company also said that 80% of all of its series had been discovered through Netflix recommendations.
Shows offering anti-heroes and moral ambiguity – such as House of Cards – led viewers to Daredevil, while Luke Cage viewers had previously watched series like Black Mirror.
Earlier this month, Netflix acquired Scottish comic book company Millarworld as it looks to further expand on its roster of IP.
