Preschoolers and tweens can choose their favourite character to celebrate the arrival of 2016.
Netflix has designed a set of special New Year’s Eve countdowns for children.
Six on-demand countdown specials have been launched – featuring a host of favourite characters – so that families can celebrate the New Year together and also still have a ‘parents only’ party.
The launch follows research carried out by Netflix which showed that more than half of parents around the world (58%) would jump at the chance to put their kids to bed before the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve.
Special episodes of Puffin Rock, Care Bears & Cousins, Inspector Gadget, King Julien, Mr Peabody and Sherman and Project Mc2 are all available as part of the countdown.
The Netflix New Year’s Eve Survey – which was conducted online by SurveyMonkey Audience, with a sample of 9,128 parents in the US, UK, France, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Italy, Spain and Mexico with at least one child aged 12 or under – found that 97% of parents across the globe are spending NYE as a family.
Parents in the US, UK, Canada and Australia agree that 9pm is the new midnight, with 49% saying they would countdown the 10 seconds by 9pm.
In addition, 41% of American parents have or plan to use a special NYE countdown as a way to get their kids to bed early.
