Brands With Influence kicks off merchandise programme for CBeebies animation.
The first Nelly and Nora consumer products are due to hit retail, with CBeebies also commissioning a new series of radio shows to coincide with the launch.
Brands With Influence is handling the licensing programme, and has secured deals with Walker Books and Dazzler Media.
Walker Books has published the first in a series of titles – The Windy Way Home – while Dazzler Media has signed up for DVD and DTO.
Talking about the show, Martin Lowde from BWI explained: “The series has launched into the UK during a highly competitive period for preschool shows and has quietly but surely gained momentum with the preschool audience.
“We are now delighted to see a second series coming to CBeebies and the launch of the first products into retail.”
The animation – created by Dublin-based Geronimo Productions – has seen a second series commissioned as a result of its strong ratings performance on screen and iPlayer. The show has seen three million iPlayer views since its launch in August 2015.
Gerard O’Rourke from Geronimo Productions added: “The key to Nelly and Nora’s success is the loveable and endearing quality of the two main characters.
“Nelly and Nora are on a path of discovery and every storyline is driven by the weather. The viewer goes on that journey with them, and every pre-school child can easily relate to the situations and fun exploits.”
The series is also due to launch on KiKa in Germany in September, as well as securing broadcast across Scandinavia. CBeebies Worldwide is also airing the show on its global network.
