The Natural History Museum has collaborated with Desmond & Dempsey – which is known for its pyjamas with hand-painted prints – to create a limited edition collection that pays homage to the extinct, but never forgotten creatures which once roamed the Earth.
Influenced by the Museum’s archives, vintage designs and old textbook illustrations, the collection features three different designs – the ‘Dippy’ print, inspired by the Museum’s infamous Diplodocus cast; the ‘T. rex’, featuring a roaring Tyrannosaurus roaming among palm trees; and the ‘Card Collector’, a nostalgic direction reminiscent of collectable dinosaurs and museum signage.
Printed on GOTS certified organic cotton with corozo buttons (instead of mother of pearl), the collaboration has sustainability at its core.
Available for men, women and kids, the collection is available in a variety of Desmond & Dempsey classic pyjama styles as well as a kimono robe, eye masks and nappy covers (6 months+).
“It has been such a pleasure to work with the wonderful team at Desmond & Dempsey and to marvel as they created such beautiful prints inspired by our wonderful dinosaurs,” commented Maxine Lister, head of licensing at the Natural History Museum.
