National Trust secures collaboration with CJ Wildlife

Conservation charity and wildlife specialist create range of products to care for the wildlife visiting gardens.

Conservation charity, the National Trust has collaborated with CJ Wildlife to help encourage individuals and communities to share the love of nature and play their part in protecting and caring for the environment.

Following weeks in lockdown, a new level of appreciation for our gardens and animal visitors has appeared.

Initially a five-year agreement, CJ Wildlife has pledged a significant value of a minimum of £775,000 support over the term starting at £75,000 per year and rising to a minimum of £240,000 in year five.

Central to the collaboration is a licensed range of products to help people care for the wildlife visiting their gardens. Every purchase made from CJ Wildlife’s National Trust range over the course of the collaboration will contribute to National Trust projects and directly benefits wildlife.

Developed by experts, the collection includes bird and wildlife foods, bird feeders, nest boxes and accessories, mammal and insect habitats and educational charts.

The items in the range have been selected based on several key criteria including material quality, effective and attractive design and sustainability. All the wood products are manufactured using FSC-certified timber and several products made from recycled materials are also included.

In the first year, the collaboration will help fund woodland projects such as that on the Exmoor coast; helping the charity in its aim to plant 20 million trees by 2030 directly benefiting birds and wildlife to safely live and breed.

“We are thrilled to be working with CJ Wildlife and sharing the expertise they bring for the future prosperity of our nation’s wildlife,” said Becky Stanford, brand licensing manager for National Trust. “This collection will allow our supporters to provide safe environments for wildlife in their own gardens, and experience the joy that seeing wildlife flourish brings.

“We’re also incredibly grateful for the support CJ Wildlife will bring to our own conservation projects and are excited to see how the collaboration will develop over the coming years.”

Claire Smith, chief officer for partnerships, products and business development at CJ Wildlife, added: “We are delighted to now be working with the National Trust and are very proud of the licensed product range we are launching.

“Both of our organisations are passionate about supporting wildlife and caring for the places where it can thrive. We look forward to the coming years and the difference we can make together directly for our wildlife and more indirectly by sparking joy in people who connect more with nature.”
