He’s made it to East London to collect the race pack and now 26.2 miles await on Sunday.
Sometimes you have to dig deep!
Find the strength inside to do things you think you can’t do, really push yourself…
I kept telling myself it’s only East London as I made my way from Fulham to the ExCeL centre to collect my marathon runner’s number (37062) – a journey that equals Bilbo Baggins’ stroll through Mordor.
As I arrived at ExCeL, a gaggle of Lycra-clad people approached me and asked “where are we?” I couldn’t have put it better myself.
I managed to dodge the offers of banana porridge and energy shots and went in search of a full English.
Thus fortified I am ready for the marathon on Sunday (April 24) – walking rather than running which is a shame, but still determined to make it round.
