My Icon Story looks to spread ‘Positivi-tea’

Company launches free greeting cards initiative inviting people to send a card to someone in need.

My Icon Story has launched a free greeting card initiative, inviting people to send a free Positivi-tea card to someone in need during these difficult and uncertain times – from friends and relatives who may be self-isolating through to neighbours, NHS staff and key workers.

Customers can choose to have their own message printed inside and sent direct to the recipient or sent blank to themselves with a spare envelope. The card design was inspired by one of My Icon Story’s student bloggers, Holly Blossom, and her debit podcast, Tea with HB.

“My nan lives on her own and I know how much she appreciates receiving cards throughout the year in general,” explained Laura Lane, founder of My Icon Story and winner of Licensing International UK’s Rising Star 2019. “Because of circumstances I can’t pop to have a cup of tea with her so sending a Positivi-tea card is a really simple to bring some comfort in what is a very lonely time for her.

“I wanted to make this card available to many more people so decided to launch the free Positivi-tea card initiative.”

The cards sold out within two hours on My Icon Story’s website yesterday (March 22), with many people requesting more to be made available.

The business is self-funded by Laura, who – due to the overwhelming demand – is now seeking help from a brand or company to sponsor the Positivi-tea card initiative to help keep it running.

£100 covers production and postage for between 55-60 cards, with Laura setting a target of being able to send at least 1,000 cards.
