Special exhibition to run from March 19 to October 9 at Museum of Childhood.
The V&A Museum of Childhood is to host a special exhibition focusing on the creations of Oliver Postgate and Peter Firman, including Bagpuss and The Clangers.
The exhibition will open on Saturday March 19 and run until Sunday October 9.
It will bring together puppets, original scenery and scripts, as well as including rare early black and white films. These will include Ivor the Engine, the duo’s first collaboration, which was last screened 45 years ago.
Visitors will be given the chance to see how the characters developed – including creations such as Pogles Wood and Noggin the Nog – as well as learning how Oliver and Peter developed their stop frame animation techniques.
The duo’s studio – which was a pigsty they converted before moving into a nearby barn – will be recreated in the exhibition.
