Mr Tumble named as face of Comic Relief campaign

Campaign will offer free fundraising packs to nurseries across UK for March 15 event.

BBC Studios and CBeebies have joined forces with Comic Relief on this year’s nursery campaign in support of Red Nose Day on March 15.

Preschool favourite Mr Tumble – from the CBeebies show Something Special – will be the face of the campaign which will offer free fundraising packs to nurseries across the UK.

Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day encourages the public to raise money to change countless lives, both in the UK and worldwide. The fundraising campaigns – which include packs aimed at nursery, primary and secondary schools – are designed to inspire children of all ages to get involved and raise funds for vulnerable people here and in the world’s poorest communities.

The nursery activity packs include an activity guide, sponsorship form, a learning poster, stickers and balloons. They also include everything that nurseries need to host their own ‘Tumble-tastic’ fundraising party, such as tips, posters and tickets.

“Comic Relief raises funds for such fantastic causes, and so we’re thrilled to be part of the 2019 Red Nose Day nursery campaign,” said Melanie Edwards, marketing manager for children’s, BBC Studios. “Something Special and Mr Tumble are firm favourites amongst early year’s children, and we’re sure that the fundraising packs we’ve created with Comic Relief will inspire children to get involved.”

Sam Devlin, head of public fundraising at Comic Relief, added: “We’re delighted to be coming together with BBC Studios and CBeebies for this year’s nursery fundraising campaign.

“Our preschool fundraisers are some of our most loyal and enthusiastic Red Nose Day supporters and we have no doubt that the addition of Mr Tumble in the packs will drive even more fantastic fundraising.”
