Spanish luxury house to launch capsule collection with Japanese animation film studio.
Spanish luxury goods house Loewe has teamed up with Japanese animation film company, Studio Ghibli, for a new capsule collection.
The limited edition range includes bags, ready to wear and accessories celebrating Studio Ghibli’s 1988 film, My Neighbor Totoro, reported The Industry.Fashion. It includes Ghibli-inspired details such as characters and artistic designs from the film.
Due for release on January 8, the collection also features a campaign photographed by Gray Sorrenti, a frequent Loewe collaborator.
Jonathan Anderson, fashion director at Loewe, told Dazed Magazine: “There is a natural longing for heartwarming feelings right now. When I think of a movie that affords me that kind of solace, speaking just as directly to a child as it does to an adult, that movie is My Neighbor Totoro.”
The collection aims to “celebrate the poetry and immediacy” of the characters, he added.
