LMI is building up the licensing programme around the International Space Archives digital library, ahead of two key anniversaries in 2018 and 2019.
The 247 Mission Patches, photos, films and video contained in the archive come from a variety of sources including NASA (the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and the international space programmes of Russia, Japan, China, India and the EU.
New Era Caps in South Korea is producing a range of apparel and headwear using the ISA mission patches artwork. The programme is now rolling out through other New Era Caps territories, including New Era Japan.
In addition, About Blank, also in South Korea, has launched an apparel and accessories range to include jackets and t-shirts, plus caps, beanies and gloves.
2018 will see the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 8 mission, which was the first manned mission to leave Earth’s orbit and head to and circumnavigate the moon over Christmas, December 1968.
Meanwhile, 2019 will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, landing the first man on the moon, in July 1969.
