LMI has boosted its portfolio with the addition of British comedy greats, Benny Hill and Carry On.
Filled with endless doubles entendres, The Benny Hill Show was among the most-watched programmes in the UK and was exported to more than 90 countries, generating £100 million in foreign sales.
On air for four decades, the show earned a raft of awards including a BAFTA for Best Writer, the prestigious Rose d’Or for international gold standard excellence, and two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Variety. Benny also received the Ivor Novello Award for Ernie (The Fastest Milkman in the West), a song which topped the charts as a Christmas number one back in 1971.
After 20 years off air, Christmas 2021 saw the return of The Benny Hill Show to screens on Sky Gold, while the series is also available on the likes of Britbox, YouTube and Amazon. There is also an official Facebook community of over 430,000 followers.
The UK licensing programme is already underway with a selection of branded craft beers and ales.
Meanwhile, 2025 marks 65 years since the Carry On films first burst on to the silver screen. What followed was 31 films, three Christmas specials, three stage plays and a 13 episode TV series.
The franchise is continually broadcast and available for streaming on all major networks including Sky Gold, Britbox, YouTube, My Five, Amazon Prime, Netflix and Sky Cinema.
The series is reported as the second longest running series in the UK today and has become the country’s biggest television export, where it can now be seen in over 140 countries on television or on video/streaming and DVD.
A range of cleaning products and a collection of six beers and ales including ‘Screaming’ and ‘Matron’ are already under licence. LMI also has a collection of high resolution movie posters, logos, images and phrases available for licensing.
