Global partnership sees players and stadium recreated in Pro Evolution Soccer video game.
Liverpool FC has secured a global partnership with Konami Digital Entertainment – meaning its players and the Anfield stadium will be recreated in the upcoming Pro Evolution Soccer video game.
The three-year deal gives Konami full player access to ensure the in-game Liverpool team replicates their overall playing style.
All three kits will be available in PES 2017, while Anfield (inclusive of the new Main Stand) will be reproduced via a free download after the game’s September launch, according to Sportindustry.biz.
Konami will also run promotions via its ‘myClub’ mode, allowing fans to add Liverpool players to their homegrown squads.
The club will also promote its involvement via digital marketing and social media, as well as further promotional activity.
Billy Hogan, chief commercial officer at Liverpool, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Konami, whose attention to detail will make sure that Liverpool is well represented and will help us to continue to engage with our fans in new and exciting ways.”
