LIMA outlines London Book Fair activity

Trade body will have dedicated lounge as well as hosting special conference sessions.

LIMA is readying for its presence at next week’s London Book Fair, where it will be hosting a number of presentations as part of the conference programme, as well as business matching sessions.

The trade body will be sharing a lounge with Total Licensing at the show – which runs at London’s Olympia from March 14-16 – allowing members to pop by and use the stand for meetings.

The team will also be on hand to advise attendees during business matching sessions – which are being organised by Total Licensing – on licensing related matters for their properties.

On top of this, three special presentations will also take place as part of the London Book Fair conference programme.

On Tuesday, March 14, Licensing for Publishers: The Basics will run from 4pm-5pm. LIMA’s Ryan Beaird will host a short presentation on the trade body, followed by Bloomsbury’s John Lomas-Bullivant and Metrostar’s Claire Potter, who will talk about setting up an in-house book property for consumer products and the role of an agent respectively.

Moving on to Wednesday, March 15 and Monetising Your Publishing IP Through Consumer Products will take place from 11.30am-12.30pm, including presentations from Emma Cairns-Smith from Egmont and Walker Books’ Julia Posen discussing in-bound and outbound licensing.

Finally, Classic Titles Brought to Life: A Penguin Random House Live Events Showcase will run from 4pm-5pm. The company’s Damian Treece will show videos and presentations of live events produced for properties including The Snowman, Peter Rabbit and the Ladybird book series.
