Winners of accolades named at opening night of Hong Kong International Licensing Show.
The winners of the 2017 LIMA Asian Licensing Awards have been named.
The accolades were awarded at a special ceremony and cocktail reception held on the opening night of the Hong Kong International Licensing Show.
Kung Fu Panda 3 was a big winner – it was name Best Entertainment Property of the Year for Oriental DreamWorks, while Master Kong scooped Best Licensed Promotion of the Year for its work with the brand.
Chengdu International Finance Square was awarded Best Location-based or Experiential Initiative of the Year for its Kung Fu Panda 3 activity.
In addition, Alibaba Group picked up the Best Retailer of the Year; B.Duck (SEMK International Enterprises) was Best Asian Property of the Year; and GS Retail was Best Licensee of the Year for Despicable Me/Minions.
The Smiley Company, meanwhile, scooped Best Corporate Brand/Fashion/Lifestyle Programme of the Year.
Smiley ceo, Nicolas Loufrani, commented: “It’s been another great year from my APAC team and I am delighted that we have received recognition for this work from LIMA.
“We are about to to announce a new deal with Meters Bowne, that will see us launching this year in 1,800 stores across the region. The demand for Smiley in APAC has never been stronger.”
