Lick marks 40th anniversary of M·A·C with new collaboration

Home décor specialist, Lick has collaborated with M·A·C to mark the make-up brand’s 40th anniversary.

The company has created M·A·C Black 40, a paint which is a highly pigmented, rich matt jet black. Each 2.5 litre tin also comes with an exclusive M·A·Cximal Silky Matte Lipstick in the shade Caviar.

“M·A·C black 40 is the colour that everyone can have in their homes,” commented Tash Bradley, director of interior design and colour psychologist at Lick. “It’s the most versatile colour: it adds dimension and contrast to any room, and will effortlessly accent your furniture and decor, whatever your style.”

Speaking about the collaboration, Dom Skinner, director of make-up artistry at M·A·C, said: “What I find really interesting about Lick is their obsession and skill when it comes to colour. Both brands share a passion for helping people express themselves through colour, which makes this collaboration so exciting.”

Tash continued: “Our partnership allows people to embrace colour confidence. We aim to guide them in expressing themselves through their choices, whether in make-up or home décor. I’ve always been fascinated by the unique role black plays in our lives. In fashion, it represents elegance and sophistication, however, in the world of interiors, many view black as a colour that requires a level of bravery and boldness to decorate with. We are challenging that perception, showing that M·A·C Black 40 is the colour that everyone can have in their homes.”

Dom added: “Celebrating M·A·C’s 40th year with Lick has been an honour, as black is at the heart of M·A·C’s DNA. What has been the most exciting part of this collaboration with Lick has been exploring the versatility of black. Showing how it can be harnessed in multiple ways from fierce rebellion to clean minimalist, from a simple sheer sweep to dynamic overdrawn intensity, black can go from cool to chic and proves why it’s a must for any trendsetter.”
