Licensing International names new md for Australia and New Zealand

Licensing International has hired retail expert Lisa Sweeney as its new managing director for Australia and New Zealand.

Based in Melbourne, Lisa will be responsible for supporting Licensing International’s Australian and New Zealand members through networking opportunities, educational programmes and expanded retail initiatives. She will take on the role from 1 August.

Lisa is ceo-director of business in Heels International, an organisation which fast tracks women in their road to success through mentoring, education, marketing and events such as the Women in Retail Leadership Summit and the Gender Equity Awards for Australia.

She previously spent 25 years in retail, many of them with Target, where she was responsible for licensing, toys and leisure.

“Lisa’s expertise in retail will be instrumental as we work to expand our offerings in Australia and New Zealand,” commented Maura Regan, president at Licensing International. “We are thrilled to welcome her as our newest md and look forward to working closely with her as we continue to grow in the region.”

Lisa added: “I am excited to collaborate with the Licensing International team and support the brand licensing community across Australia and New Zealand in this new role. The market here is tough and licensing provides a fabulous opportunity for retailers to engage with their customers differently. I can’t wait to share the global best practices.”
