Licensing International Germany confirms 2020 award winners

Trade body celebrates the best of the German licensing business in 2020.

Licensing International Germany has revealed the winners of its 2020 awards, celebrating the best of the German licensing business.

The winners were selected from among 54 finalists in ten categories, with the announcement made by Peter Hollo, Licensing International Germany md (pictured) in a special video.

For the first time, LI Germany honoured the industry’s Rising Stars.

“We have some extraordinary talent in our creative and fast moving industry who may not have been in their jobs for a long time but show commitment and creativity,” commented Peter.  “These can be young career starters or career changers new to licensing. Age is not the decisive factor here, but commitment, drive and passion for licensing.”

The winners of the Licensing International Germany 2020 Awards are:

Licensor/Licensing Agency of the year – KIDDINX, Studio 100 Media GmbH

Licensee of the year – Boxine

Property/Franchise of the year – Die Eiskönigin, Der Grüffelo

Licensed product of the year – Playmobil Heidi Spielsets

Promotion of the year – Grüffelo Tchibo Promotion, Active Merchandising; McDonald‘s Happy Meal: Original Schleich Figuren, CREATA (Germany) GmbH

Retailer of the year – Müller

Sports brand of the year – Bundesliga (DFL)

Digital brand of the year – Super Mario

Corporate/Lifestyle/VIP brand of the year – Ralph Ruthe

Newcomer of the year – MyPostcard.com

Licensing Industry Award – Studio 100 Media

Lifetime Achievement Award – Fred Göpfardt, Licensing Press

Rising Stars 2020 – Mandy Bläsche, Volkswagen Licensing; Steffi Engel, Pummeleinhorn; Josipa Gelo, MyPostcard.com; Steffi Greif, Brand Licensing by Burda; Ann-Katrin Hager, sprd.net.
