Expo University programme takes shape

Execs from Aardman, Iconix, Hasbro, Mattel and more will take part in show’s seminar programme.

With just two weeks remaining until Licensing Expo opens its doors to the industry, the popular Licensing University programme is continuing to take shape.

Running from June 20-23, LIMA has put together a programme which aims to cover all the topics that impact the licensing business – from marketing to retail to app development.

Executives including Aardman’s head of licensing Rob Goodchild; Simon Waters, general manager and svp entertainment and consumer products, Hasbro; Susie Lecker, chief brands officer, Toy Box division, Mattel; and Annalisa Ciganko, senior director, global retail, Iconic Brand Group among others will all take part.

Session highlights will include Targeting Specialty Retail: Hidden Opportunities; Crowdfunding: A How-to for Licensors and Licensees; The Art and Science of Competitive Shopping; The Online Video Revolution; plus this year’s keynote panel, Toys to Content: Where do we go from here?

Charles Riotto, president of LIMA, said: “Our Licensing University sessions are about much more than licensing; they tackle all the topics that impact a business’s bottom line. This year’s line-up provides an unparalleled opportunity to connect with industry leaders and learn something new about trending topics in business.”

Jessica Blue, svp licensing at show organiser UBM, added: “One of the ways we ensure Licensing Expo continues to be a leading resource for licensing professionals is by hosting cutting-edge educational sessions. The 2016 sessions and the return of the Digital Media Licensing Summit are just that, honing in on up-and-coming opportunities and what’s next in the licensing world.”

Licensing Expo runs from June 21-23 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas.
