Licensing business ready to make an impact at Spring Fair

With Spring Fair opening its doors on Sunday (4 February), the licensing business is getting ready to make its presence felt – with not only a host of new product across the show floor, but also a masterclass session from Hasbro and celebrations for Peppa Pig’s 20th anniversary, plus two key sessions from Products of Change.

Visitors will be able to check out trend-led licensed products across the show floor at Birmingham’s NEC (4-7 February) including gifts, collectables, toys, clothing and housewares. These will range from Disney characters, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, Marvel, Metallica, Jurassic Park, Moomins, Peter Rabbit, Paddington, Pokémon, Sonic, Crayola, Friends, Minecraft, The Beatles, Avatar, Batman, Star Wars and Barbie, through to popular TV personalities such as Mary Berry, Olly Smith and interior household names including Terence Conran, Catherine Lansfield, Cath Kidston, Sara Miller, and William Morris.

Just some of the licensees presenting product include Captivate Brands, Pure Tabletop, Riva Home, TY UK, Whitehouse Leisure, Fizz Creations, Paladone, Sting in the Tale, Half Moon Bay, Lasgo, Star Images Enterprise, Blue Sky Studios, The English Ladies Co, Heroes Inc, Rock Off Retail, The Source Wholesale, The Carat Shop, Infinity Brands, Enesco, Pyramid International, Spike Leisurewear, Heathcote & Ivory and The English Soap Company.

Hasbro will have a major presence at the show, partnering to celebrate Peppa Pig’s 20th anniversary. Visitors can join Peppa’s Party on Monday and Tuesday (5-6 February) at 4.30pm for drinks, cake and the unveiling of the preschool character’s new dress, taking place in Peppa’s Playground in the Kids, Toys & Play sector in Hall 5.

In addition, UK licensing director, Catrina O’Brien will be hosting a licensing masterclass session at 3pm on Monday (5 February). The session will offer a comprehensive look at licensing essentials, from understanding the lifecycle of new hits and evergreen brands to mastering collaboration and product development.

Meanwhile, Tuesday 6 February will see two sessions from Helena Mansell-Stopher, ceo and founder of Products of Change.

It Takes Two to Tango: Your Role in Conscious Consumerism (11am) will help visitors to discover the latest eco-creative solutions for growing conscious consumerism, while Sustainable Trends Unwrapped (1pm) will discuss the cutting edge trends and emerging products shaping the retail sector’s future and reducing its environmental impact.

Also of interest to the licensing community will be Spring Fair’s partnership with TikTok Shop. The e-commerce solution integrated within TikTok enables merchants and creators to showcase and sell products for the TikTok community to discover and purchase directly through a complete in-app experience.

Sponsoring Spring Fair’s new Masterclass Studio, the partnership is dedicated to helping grow retail businesses by offering expertise in TED-style talks on an array of topics from social media skills, buying best practice, radical retail technology and conscious consumerism, from TikTok Shop’s experts and leading agencies.
