Licensing activity ramps up for Kazoops

First downloadable music album for CBeebies hit preschool series launches.

Art and Science International is in the midst of coordinating a raft of licensing activity for preschool show Kazoops, with the first downloadable music album ready for launch.

Just Imagine – Volume 1 includes 20 songs from the CBeebies series – which is produced by Cheeky Little Media – with digital service providers including iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and YouTube.

Fans of the preschool series can either buy the album and individual songs or stream the music online.

Patrick Egerton, executive producer at Cheeky Little Media, commented: “Music pervades Kazoops at all levels, and not just because each episode contains a unique song.

“The seed of the series concept came from our song writer and performer Scott Langley. He had written these amazing songs about a boy and a pig who went on imaginary journeys. When we heard how ‘grown-up’ the music was, and how clever and funny Scott’s lyrics were, we knew we had the start of something cool for a preschool audience.

“The songs are key to the show, and give us these visually rich adventures at the centre of each episode that are crucial to the story, but can also stand alone as mini-music videos in their own right.”

Art and Science’s licensing director, Nicola Webster, added: “We are thrilled to be able to meet the demands of the fans by releasing the music. The TV show is incredibly popular and is achieving a consistent 24% share of viewers on CBeebies.

“On a licence perspective it’s great to be working on such an inspirational series and we will shortly be announcing more licensing partners, with product releases planned throughout 2017.”

The album will launch in English, followed by a subsequent music release in 2017 in 18 other languages.
