The finalists for Gift of the Year 2023 have been revealed today (14 February), with a number of licensed names appearing across several of the categories.
The winners and highly commended products will be announced at The Gift Awards, to be held at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel on 11 May 2023, for the second year running, marking a significant unified step forward for the UK gift industry.
The live judging event, held at last week’s Spring Fair, was a resounding success. It was held over all four days for the first time, allowing judges to come and go when they had completed their time at Spring Fair, with a record-breaking total of over 60 judges casting their votes.
Finalists in the Branded Gift category are:
- Build Your Own, Wallace & Gromit Rocket – Build Your Own Kits
- Disney Home – Widdop
- Emma Bridgewater, Brighter World – Elite
- M&S Colin & Percy Baking Kits in a Bottle – The Bottled Baking Co
- Peter Rabbit Pop Up Card Collection – Cardology
- V&A Bookaroo Collection – IF
In addition, licensed products also appeared across a number of the other categories.
The Corgi Toys James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 (Blue14 D2C0 and David Bowie Album Jigsaw Puzzle (NMR) both feature in Commemorative, Collectable and Charitable, while Enesco gets a nod in Contemporary Gift for its Scion Living range.
Fizz Creation’s Peter Rabbit Grow Your Own Herbs is among the finalists in Home and Garden, while Elite’s Emma Bridgewater, Rice Husk Picnicware is a finalist in Ethical and Sustainable Gift.
The Yvonne Ellen brand gets a double nomination in Kitchen and Dining, for the Yvonne Ellen Slogan Range and the Yvonne Ellen Sushi Range.
Finally, Rainbow Designs and Heathcote & Ivory both appear in My Gift of All Time with the Large Classic Cuddly Paddington Bear and William Morris at Home Canine Companion Dog Walkers Kit respectively.
