Hey Duggee, Pokémon, Peppa Pig, Shaun the Sheep among those nominated.
The nominations list for the 2017 British Academy Children’s Awards has today been revealed, with a raft of familiar licensed names included.
A winner last year, BBC Worldwide’s Hey Duggee has once again been named in the Preschool Animation category, lining up alongside Digby Dragon, Peppa Pig and Sarah & Duck.
Meanwhile, The Amazing World of Gumball, Revolting Rhymes, Shaun the Sheep and We’re Going on a Bear Hunt will contest the Animation category.
Horrible Histories has been named as a contender in the Comedy category, while Moana and Sing are among the nominees in the Feature Film category.
Pokémon has two nominations in the Game category – Pokémon Go and Pokémon Sun & Pokémon Moon; SpongeBob Squarepants is among the International nominees; while Numberblocks has been named in the Learning category.
In Independent Production Company of the Year, both Blue Zoo Animation and Magic Light Pictures have been given the nod, while Channel of the Year will be contested by Cartoon Network, CBBC, CBeebies and Truetube.
The winners will be revealed at a glittering ceremony at the Roundhouse, London, on Sunday, November 26, which will be hosted by British actor, writer and comedian Doc Brown.
