Licensed names make The Calies 2019 shortlist

Danilo, BrownTrout, Flame Tree Publishing, Portico Designs among this year’s nominees.

A number of licensees have been named in the shortlist for The Calies 2019.

Taking place on Tuesday, November 19 at Stationers’ Hall, The Calies is the dedicated industry awards for calendars, diaries and Advents.

Danilo has been nominated across a swathe of categories for licensed calendars including Blue Planet II, VW Campervan, The Beatles Abbey Road, David Bowie The Man Who Sold The World, Liverpool FC Collector’s Edition Box Set, Peaky Blinders, Winnie the Pooh and Happy Jackson.

Portico Designs has been nominated for its popular Hurrah for Gin calendar, as well as its Natural History Museum Dinosaurs Family Calendar, while BrownTrout is in the running with its I Like Birds diary, along with its I Like Birds: Birds & Blooms Limited Edition calendar.

Flame Tree Publishing gets a nod for its Frida Kahlo Wall Art, Royal Ballet and Spike Milligan calendars, while Carousel Calendars has been named for its partnerships with RHS, Marine Conservation Society and National Geographic.

Chronicle Books, teNeues, Pyramid International, Hardie Grant and Hallmark have also received nominations for licensed lines.

All winners will be announced at The Calies awards event, which takes place on Tuesday November 19 at Stationers’ Hall, in the City of London (5.15pm-7.45pm).

The cost is £60 + VAT per ticket. This includes drinks reception and canapés, talks and award ceremony, with networking continuing post-awards (paid bar available).
