Licensed names given the nod in Gift of the Year 2021 finalist shortlist

RHS, Richard Osman’s House of Games, Rebel Girls and Slush Puppie among the finalists for this year’s accolades.

A host of licensed names have been given the nod in this year’s Gift of the Year finalists shortlist, which has been officially confirmed by The Giftware Association.

The awards – which will this year form part of the Spring Fair @ Home virtual event in February – includes 22 categories, while it is also introducing a new People’s Choice award for 2021.

Finalists in the Branded Gift category – which is sponsored by Max Publishing – include: Richard Osman’s House of Games board game, Hacche Retail; Jigsaw puzzles and games for Rebel Girls, Gibsons; Royal Opera House Create Your Own Theatre, Clockwork Soldier; and RHS Gifts for Gardeners ‘British Meadow’ gardening gift collection, Burgon & Ball.

In addition, The Bake Off Box from The Great British Exchange has been nominated in the Food & Drink category, while Fizz Creations’ Slush Puppie Machine is in the running for My Gift of All Time.

Meanwhile, the People’s Choice award allows the public and the end consumer to vote for their favourite products from the finalist selection. This marks the first time in the history of the competition – which is typically trade only – has allowed the general public to vote.

Chris Workman, PR and marketing manager at The Giftware Association, commented: “We are now very excited for our next ambitious stage of the competition – involving individual ceremonies for each of the categories – where the winners will be announced.”

A ‘super-secret’ recorded event will subsequently be shown at Spring Fair @ Home which can be viewed from February 8 onwards on the Spring Fair platform, as well as through the GA’s own channels.
