Licensed character favourites do ‘The Strictly’

Teletubbies, Danger Mouse and Penfold put on their dancing shoes for BBC1 show.

Preschool favourites the Teletubbies have been showing off their dancing skills, with the foursome having filmed a special video of them doing ‘The Strictly’ for BBC One.

The characters – which enjoyed a premiere of the new Teletubbies series at the BFI on London’s Southbank earlier this week – follow in the quickstepping footsteps of Danger Mouse and Penfold, who have also been featured in a special animation for Strictly Come Dancing.

“Filming the Teletubbies doing The Strictly dance was a great opportunity to showcase the loveable nature and energy of the Teletubbies,” Tor Bushell, vp global brand management at DHX Brands, told The Source.

“The collaboration of such well-loved shows was fantastic exposure and a heap of fun. Everyone on set loved seeing the really quite spectacular feat of these beloved characters bringing their own magic to that instantly recognisable routine.”

On DM and Penfold’s appearance, Tessa Moore, svp global brand management at FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment, told The Source: “So great to see Danger Mouse and Penfold transcending from their daily CBBC slots into primetime entertainment.

“Viewers should watch out for another appearance by Penfold later in the new series of Danger Mouse in that fetching pink dress…”
