Licences take place in Argos Top Toy list for 2018

PAW Patrol, Fingerlings, Nerf, L.O.L Surprise all make 2018 listing from retailer.

A batch of licensed properties have taken their place in this year’s top toys listing from Argos.

Released exactly 200 days before Christmas, the rundown features 14 toys covering areas such as fantasy, technology, construction and discovery.

In terms of licensed names, two of the top crazes of the moment have made it into the listing.

Fingerlings Untamed T-Rex and Fingerlings Untamed Dino Cage are both listed, alongside L.O.L Surprise Under Wraps, which is the first cylindrical shape case for the collectable favourite.

Meanwhile, hit preschool brand PAW Patrol returns to the listing, with the new Rescue Fire Truck play-set, while the Nerf Laser Ops Two Pack has also been included.

Juliet Ward, head of toy buying at Argos, said: “This year’s list is arguably our most exciting and eclectic to date. The list shows how toys are continuing to progress with interactive items among the most popular.

“We’re also seeing the modernisation of more classic and traditional toys resulting in a varied and extensive list.”

The list comes as Argos research reveals that 4.7 million Brits have already started their Christmas shopping, while almost half a million 16 to 25 year olds have already finished their present buying for the festive season.
