Licences shine in Tesco’s Christmas top toy picks

My Little Pony, Guardians of the Galaxy, PJ Masks, PAW Patrol all named.

Tesco has named its top ten Christmas toy picks for this year, with a number of key licensed brands taking starring roles.

Evergreen favourites such as My Little Pony and LEGO are included, alongside preschool newcomers PJ Masks and PAW Patrol.

In addition, MGA Entertainment brands Num Noms and L.O.L Surprise have also made the listing, with Tesco highlighting a limited edition L.O.L Surprise Ball as one to watch.

Big Surprise will launch in time for Christmas and will feature 50 gifts in each ball.

Tesco’s senior toy buying manager, Garry Lawford, commented: “While the Big Surprise sits on top of our top ten list there are other toys for kids of all ages – and the good news is that this year’s selection is less reliant on technical innovation, and more to do with getting children to use their imagination.

“There are latest toys from evergreen favourites like LEGO and My Little Pony, which some parents will remember, as well as newer favourites such as Nerf, PAW Patrol and Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Tesco’s complete top ten Christmas toy list, which include several exclusives, is as follows:

  • L.O.L Big Surprise Ball (£60)
  • Guardians of the Galaxy 12″ Titan 6 Pack (£70)
  • My Little Pony Mega Collection Pack (£60) – Tesco will have an exclusive range of products relating to the hotly tipped movie, with this pack featuring six figures
  • Carousel Drive and Talk Vehicles (£15)
  • LEGO City Police Station (£75)
  • Fisher-Price Think & Learn Teach ‘n Tag Movi (£50)
  • Num Noms Nail Polish Maker (£50)
  • PJ Masks Headquarters (£50)
  • PAW Patrol Sea Patroller (£70)
  • Nerf Modulus Regulator (£65)
