Levi Roots brand grows soft drinks line

Exotic Kick flavour is exclusive to independent convenience stores.

The Levi Roots brand is expanding its soft drinks line, with the introduction of a new Exotic Kick flavour.

The variant will be exclusive to independent convenience stores, according to Talking Retail.

Designed to appeal to ‘spice loving’ 16 to 35 year old males, Exotic Kick contains mango and coconut flavours with a ‘kick of chilli’.

It joins existing flavours Caribbean Crush and Jamaican Sunset in the range.

“Shoppers are increasingly looking for more variety and exciting taste sensations within soft drinks chillers, so this is the perfect time to introduce Exotic Kick,” said Ed Jones, senior customer marketing manager at brand owner Nichols.

The Levi Roots brand has significantly expanded in the food and beverage sector since Levi appeared on Dragons’ Den back in 2006. He gained the backing of Richard Farleigh and Peter Jones, who helped get his Reggae Reggae Sauce listed in Sainsbury’s.

The brand now includes soft drinks, ready meals and desserts, as well as the sauce, while Levi has written six cookbooks. In December 2015, he opened the Levi Roots Caribbean Smokehouse in Westfield Stratford.
