LEGO gears up for Lamborghini collaboration

First ever LEGO Technic Lamborghini set will launch globally in summer 2020.

The LEGO Group has inked a partnership between Italian super sports car manufacturer, Automobili Lamborghini and LEGO Technic, the company’s building system for older children and adults.

The first ever LEGO Technic Lamborghini set will launch globally in summer 2020, with the new 1:8 scale set being the third model in the LEGO Technic Ultimate series, joining the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and Bugatti Chiron.

“Following the success of the former Ultimate models, both the Porsche and the Bugatti, it was crucial for us to find a new partner with an iconic vehicle, an unmistakable design DNA and ground breaking use of technology,” said Niels Henrik Horsted, marketing director for LEGO Technic.

Katia Bassi, Automobili Lamborghini’s chief marketing and communication officer, added: “The LEGO Group has amazed entire generations with beautifully simple or extremely complex constructions.

“In the digital age, where entertainment is often via a screen, our collaboration with the LEGO Group allows enthusiasts to live a real experience, reproducing a Lamborghini super sports car in every detail to create an outstanding model, just like the real car.”

The LEGO Technic Lamborghini model will be available in LEGO Brand Retail Stores and the LEGO Online Store from June 1 and more widely from August 1.
