LEGO adds The Child set to its portfolio

1,073-piece set of The Mandalorian character launches globally from October 30.

The LEGO Group has revealed its latest construction set – this time featuring The Child from hit Disney+ series, Star Wars: The Mandalorian.

Inspired by the small-in-size but powerful-in-charisma character – who has been affectionately dubbed Baby Yoda by fans – the 1,073-piece set launches globally from October 30.

Designed for fans aged ten and over, the model – which measures just under 20cm in height – has a poseable head, moveable ears and an adjustable mouth. The construction set also comes with an information plaque, which includes the Child’s height and age, and a LEGO Star Wars Minifigure of the Child to complete the display.

“When I received the challenge to create a LEGO brick-built version of the Child, I knew that I had to get it just right,” commented Michael Lee Stockwell, design manager for LEGO Star Wars. “The goal was to capture the charm, and above all, the cuteness of the character, so we worked meticulously, choosing and placing each and every brick.

“We even included authentic details like the gearstick knob – a favourite toy of the Child as seen in the series.”
