Peppa Loves Doctors and Nurses launches on June 11 with 10% of the RRP on print books sold in 2020 going to charity.
Ladybird will be publishing a new Peppa Pig picture book to support COVID-19 charities.
Launching on June 11, 10% of the RRP on print books of Peppa Loves Doctors and Nurses sold in 2020 will go to the COVID-19 Urgent Appeal, run by NHS Charities Together and the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organisation (powered by the United Nations Foundation and the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation).
In the book, Peppa and her playgroup have a visit from Dr Brown Bear and Nurse Fox, and learn the importance of washing hands, staying healthy and experience the brilliant work done by all doctors and nurses.
Described as a ‘gentle and engaging’ story, it offers an introduction to some of the key health messages that children might be hearing now in a familiar and reassuring environment.
“Dr Brown Bear and Nurse Fox – like all of our wonderful health professionals the world over – are much-loved by Peppa and her friends,” said Leanne Gill, Ladybird’s licensing publisher. “Here at Ladybird we wanted to publish a book that not only reassures and supports children in this unsettling time, but that also leaves a lasting legacy of support to the amazing work done by medical professionals.”
Ellie Orton, chief executive of NHS Charities Together, added: “You know your fundraising appeal has reached a new level when an icon like Peppa Pig gets behind it.
“We are really honoured that we will be one of the beneficiaries of this new book celebrating health workers and I hope it sells in shedloads.”
Peppa Pig is the number one licensing publishing brand in the UK, with over 14 million books sold through UK TCM. Peppa Loves Doctors and Nurses will be priced at £6.99.
