Ladybird Books partners with Liberty Art Fabrics

Range of fabric and paper designs use elements of illustrations from three vintage books.

Penguin Ventures has teamed with Liberty Art Fabrics Interiors on a new range of fabric and paper designs, using elements of illustrations from three vintage Ladybird books.

Fabric designs, Gail’s Garden ‘Dawn’ and ‘Dusk’ feature illustrations from Ladybird’s Garden Flowers, while wallpaper, Charlotte ‘Catherine Cream’ is inspired by British Wild Flowers and Lime Wood ‘Fairweather Green’ and ‘Bolsover Grey’ by Trees.

The fabrics and papers will be available exclusively at Liberty and online from November 15, then retailers nationwide from January 2016.

“Like Liberty, Ladybird books are synonymous with iconic, quintessentially British design and this partnership offers an opportunity for the original book illustrations to evolve and exist in an entirely new way,” said Susan Bolsover, head of licensing and consumer products at Penguin Ventures.

“We are delighted to be working in collaboration with Liberty during the 100th anniversary of Ladybird.”

The three non-fiction titles are from the series ‘Nature’ which comprised 25 titles in total.
