Heritage fashion brand teams with singer on his first fashion collaboration.
Lacoste has teamed up with Bruno Mars for the singer’s first fashion collaboration.
Launching on 5 March, Bruno has created the line with the French heritage fashion brand using his designer alter ego, Ricky Regal, reported Fashion United.
Inspired by a ‘lust for life and an entrepreneurial Midas touch’, the collection blends the singer’s enigmatic personality and distinct style with Lacoste’s mix of sport and luxury.
It features a range of ready to wear clothing, footwear and accessories for men and women. The sportswear centres around fluid shirts and pop tracksuits, as well as shorts, polo shirts, t-shirts, pants, slides, socks and a pair of aviator sunglasses.
A palette of bold colours are used, combined with 1970s’ nostalgia with velvet, silk and cotton fabrics.
“I’ve been very fortunate to have been asked to do collaborations in the past, but it always came with guidelines,” commented Bruno. “Lacoste was the first and only brand that said ‘Bruno you can do whatever you want’. The respect of such creative freedom coming from a heritage fashion house was an honour.”
