L.O.L. Surprise is top selling toy in Christmas run up

MGA’s unboxing toy brand takes top five spots in latest NPD listing.

The NPD Group has revealed the top ten bestselling toys in the last reported week of sales data it will publish before Christmas.

The data shows that MGA Entertainment’s L.O.L. Surprise unboxing toy brand has taken the top five spots.

“In the second week of December, our sales figures underlined the continued strong appeal of the L.O.L. Surprise range,” said Frederique Tutt, toy analyst at NPD. “The ‘unboxing’ toys are priced from £10 to £169 so there’s something in the selection to suit most budgets.

“The appearance of Dobble in the top ten is an indicator that sales of games and puzzles will grow strongly in the run up to Christmas Day as families plan for quality time together. And if you’ve missed the trend for llamas in the toy sector over the last year, you may have been living on the moon! Boppi the llama will be shakin’ its booty in many homes over the festive period.”

The top ten bestselling toys in the UK for the week ending December 14 are as follows:
