Kith and Marvel collaborate on 85th anniversary collection

In celebration of Marvel’s 85th anniversary, Kith and Marvel are collaborating once more to create an extensive collection of apparel, accessories, collectables and more – reimagining iconic Marvel villains through the Kith lens.

The collaboration will turn the spotlight on the likes of Thanos, Loki, Doctor Doom, Magneto and Green Goblin.

“For our third collaboration, we’re celebrating Marvel’s 85th anniversary by paying homage to the characters we all love to hate – the villains,” commented Ronnie Fieg, ceo and creative director at Kith. “As I went through Marvel’s vast archives, I realised that there are more villains than heroes in my top 10 favorite characters. It was a lot of fun being able to reimagine some of their most iconic artworks to create this new collection and expand into new product categories.”

The apparel part of the collection will feature reimagined archival Marvel illustrations, graphics and logos on the likes of jackets, vintage tees, crewnecks, hoodies and sweaters, as well as accessories.

Meanwhile, the footwear component sees Ronnie reprise his longtime partnership with ASICS, with five custom models inspired by Marvel characters including Spider-Man & Venom, Green Goblin, Silver Surfer and Magneto.

The Spider-Man and Venom models will be sold together in a special double-box set, while the other colourways will be sold individually. Each colourway has its own unique colour-blocking and material execution.

Returning for a third installment, Marvel and Kith will be releasing a new comic book featuring Marvel’s iconic villains in the face of a mysterious threat, building on the comic book storyline featured in their previous collaborations. Each comic book will be gifted to purchasers of the Marvel | Kith for ASICS custom footwear.

In addition, as part of the collection, Kith and Marvel worked with luxury home brand Modernica to craft a custom version of the Fiberglass Shell Chair. The chair features wraparound archival Marvel artwork, a co-branded ‘Kith Universe’ logo, and a Kith Home plaque on the bottom of the chair.

In celebration of the Silver Surfer, Kith & Marvel also collaborated with renowned surfboard brand Haydenshapes on a limited edition, custom board inspired by the iconic character.

Finally, ahead of the full collection, Kith and Marvel created a capsule of apparel and special edition lifestyle products. In collaboration with Swarovski, Kith and Marvel developed six unique varsity jackets that represent each one of Thanos’ Infinity Stones.

Each premium wool jacket features a custom Kith logo with a colour indicative of the stone and with matching hues on the satin interior lining. The front also features Thanos’ gauntlet showcasing Swarovski crystals symbolising each stone, and the back showcases the ‘Kith Universe’ logo patch, complementary galactic motifs, and Thanos. The jackets will be blind-boxed, which means fans will be surprised at which color jacket and type of Swarovski crystals they receive.

Along with the jackets, Kith and Marvel created a special Infinity Gauntlet Paperweight, limited to one hundred units worldwide.
