King Features named global agent for Rebel Girls

King Features Syndicate has welcomed global girl empowerment brand, Rebel Girls, to its roster.

Under the new agreement, King Features will represent Rebel Girls worldwide for promotions, collaborations and merchandise across all categories including apparel, accessories, collectables and more.

Rebel Girls – a certified B Corporation – is a global, multi-platform empowerment brand dedicated to helping raise the most inspired and confident generation of girls through content, experiences, products and community.

Since publishing its first book in 2016, Rebel Girls has told the stories of more than 2,000 real-life women throughout history to present day across more than eight million books sold and 20+ million podcast downloads. In 2021, the brand launched the Rebel Girls App, a digital destination offering an immersive online and offline experience across Rebel Girls’ universe of storytelling.

The consumer products programme and brand partnerships further extend the purpose-driven mission to ’empower and inspire girls to be confident and dream big’.

Current licensing partners across apparel, déco  and crafts include Jay Franco, Mad Engine, Centric, Fashion Angles, Build-a-Bear, Coalition Snow and PlayStories. Brand partners across content and experiences include Nike, Google, Alaska Airlines, Hasbro, Spin Master and Athleta.

“Rebel Girls is the most impactful and inspirational girls’ empowerment brand that has ever existed,” commented Carla Silva, vp and gm, global head of licensing at King Features. “We are proud to join their mission of raising the most inspired and confident generation of young women through content, products and experiences.

“The opportunity to spread their motivating brand ethos to additional territories around the world through strategic merchandise and promotional partnerships is massive and we can’t wait to get started.”

Jes Wolfe, ceo at Rebel Girls, continued: “Rebel Girls is excited to launch this next phase of our licensing business with female-led King Features. We take great pride in working with partners who are aligned with our corporate values; and we believe with King Features at our side we are well-positioned to continue leading the movement to empower and activate girls around the world.”
