Kid-E-Cats enjoys Licensing Expo China success

CTC Media successfully launches franchise, securing five deals at the event.

CTC Media is celebrating the successful launch of the Kid-E-Cats property at Licensing Expo China earlier this summer.

The company – together with its exclusive agent in China, Beijing JOY Culture Media – launched the colourful property with a vibrant stand at the show (which took place from July 24-26).

The franchise was also presented to key market players such as Anhui Children Press, Dongguan Huawang Industrial, Dongguan Boli Industrial, Gudi Hong Kong Holding, Hebei Yida Food Company, Yucheng International, Youku, Baby Bus, BangBao and Shenzhen Leier Toy company at the conference in the Intercontinental Hotel Shanghai.

At the event, five licensing and merchandising contracts were signed with local licensees. Toys, books and infant apparel are expected to hit the shelves by the end of 2019 in China.

Season one of Kid-E-Cats launched in December 2018 on eight digital platforms including Tencent video, IQIYI and Youku, followed by season two in May 2019 on over 12 digital platforms simultaneously. A third season is also being planned for early next year in China.

“We are very happy to see how rapidly Kid-E-Cats brand is growing in China with the help of our partners Joy Media company,” said Ksenia Gordienko, director of the animation department at CTC Media. “China is one of our key markets and we hope to create long-lasting massive Kid-E-Cats franchise program there. First steps are already successfully taken.”
