A number of leading children’s book illustrators have paid homage to Raymond Briggs during the 40th anniversary year of The Snowman.

The illustrators were invited to draw The Snowman in their own style, with the artworks set to be auctioned by Raymond’s chosen charity, Chestnut Tree House.

Quentin Blake, John Burningham, Adam Hargreaves, Shirley Hughes, Helen Oxenbury, Chris Riddell, Posy Simmonds, Andy Stanton and Ed Vere have all contributed illustrations.

The original, signed artworks will be on display as part of a wider exhibition of Raymond Briggs’ original illustrations from The Snowman at Brighton Museum and Art Gallery from December 4 to January 6.
