Julian Montoya takes on new global toys role at WBCP

Popular exec has been with Warner Bros. Consumer Products since 2000.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products has underlined the importance of the toy category to its business, promoting Julian Montoya to the role of svp, global toys.

Julian – who has been with the company since 2000 – has been charged with developing and directing global sales and licensing strategies to help fuel long-term growth for brands including DC, JK Rowling’s Wizarding World, Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera.

Prior to this promotion, Julian was vp global toys for WBCP, where he was responsible for business development initiatives to maximise revenue, retail presence and market share for WB’s portfolio.

During his tenure, he was instrumental in the development of the toy category for consumer products including developing and executing strategic category plans and managing key partners such as Mattel, LEGO, Funko, Rubie’s and Jakks Pacific.

“Julian’s strategic approach, strong industry relationships and consumer-centric mindset has been instrumental in bringing best-in-class toys and games to the market for more than 15 years,” said Pam Lifford, president, WBCP.

“Toys will always be a driving category for our business and I look forward to continue working alongside Julian and his team as we identify new and emerging partners and products.”

Prior to joining WBCP, Julian held positions at Lucas Licensing, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment International and Warner Home Video.
