Jon Spalding joins Mattel as head of UK consumer products and hardlines EMEA

Mattel has welcomed Jon Spalding as its new head of UK consumer products and hardlines EMEA.

Jon (pictured) has been charged with leading the UK consumer products team and will also take regional leadership for the hardlines category across EMEA.

He joins Mattel from NBCUniversal where he has most recently been working as director of hardlines, publishing and food for the UK and Ireland, as well as holding a regional EMEA role for the hardlines category.

“We are delighted to appoint Jon into this role with his wealth of experience in the UK and European market,” commented Ruth Henriquez, head of consumer products EMEA at Mattel. “We are looking forward to him leading the team to accelerate the growth of the Mattel brands through engaging consumer products programmes.”

In the last financial reporting, Mattel EMEA was the fastest growing region for the corporation.
