Museum unveils first exclusive collection with retailer for autumn/winter 2017.
The V&A has unveiled its first exclusive collection with John Lewis for autumn/winter 2017.
‘V&A inspired, John Lewis designed’ is comprised of 17 pieces across lighting, furniture, textiles and decorative accessories.
Lauren Sizeland, head of licensing and business development at the V&A, said: “We are delighted to be working with John Lewis, another great British brand. The designers have taken inspiration from across the breadth of our rich and vast resources and the range is very well conceived, incorporating traditional crafts and technology showing great depth and real innovation. The resulting products are really very special.”
The series has been highly publicised via John Lewis’ print media and digital platforms as a key line within the department store’s ‘Only Here’ campaign and the Collector’s House Design Story.
Coverage included a Facebook Live broadcast where head of John Lewis design, Philippa Prinsloo gave an exclusive preview of the AW17 home interior lines.
Pieces from the V&A inspired collection were also on display in John Lewis’ first ever fully furnished in-store apartments, offering customers the ultimate-try-before-you-buy experience, titled The Residence.
The V&A inspired, John Lewis designed collection is being stocked in 23 stores throughout the UK and online.
