JELC to grow Help for Heroes in licensing arena

Charity appoints JELC as licensing agent for the gardening and outdoor living sectors.

Help for Heroes is continuing to develop its presence in the licensing space – appointing JELC as its agent in the gardening and outdoor living sectors.

In order to support the charity’s activities, JELC will be targeting licensees and retailers in all categories of the sector including plants, trees and seeds, gardening tools and equipment, outdoor living, garden furniture, play equipment and publishing among others.

Horticultural and land-management activities are an important part of the recovery programme for those suffering from physical and mental injuries. The process of being outdoors – planting, nurturing and tending gardens and the countryside – is a proven healing therapy which can be undertaken at the charity’s four Recovery Centres around the UK.

Beneficiaries can continue to build on what they learn on the courses they take, which include NVQ qualifications, when they get home and in local clubs.

Marcus O’Shea, head of brand partnerships at Help for Heroes, commented: “We are delighted to be working with  JELC who bring a wealth of experience  to our licensing activity  and will significantly boost our revenue-generating opportunities.

“This additional revenue will  make a difference to thousands of brave men and women as they battle to rebuild their lives.”

Jane Evans, joint md of JELC, added: “Every time we have a meeting at one of the Recovery Centres, we come away feeling truly humbled and inspired by the way the money raised is transforming the lives of those who have been injured while serving our country.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to use our years of experience in the licensing industry to really make a difference, and gardening is a subject which we’re personally passionate about.”
